ECHOES

Revisiting the self-portraits of men and women that punctuate the history of photography, I put myself in front of the camera incorporating their poses, mimicking their facial expressions, copying their composition and reproducing their light.

These self-portraits echo those of the great names in photography. They resonate in time and space, materializing randomly over time.

It's a long-term project that aims to bear witness to the wealth of self-portraits made by photographers, and provides a fragmented portrait of the history of photography.

Photograhers featured are: Hippolyte Bayard, Alphonse Bertillon, André Kertész, Man Ray, Constantin Brancusi, Bruce Nauman, Duane Michals, Pierre Molinier, Robert Mapplethorpe, Francesca Woodman, John Coplans, Nan Goldin, Roman Opalka, Helmut Newton, Martin Parr, Antoine D'Agata.

Work in progress. Project initiated at the Beaux-Arts of Toulouse, 2010
