The landscapes that make up Jardin D'Hiver (au clair de lune) are acrylic monotypes based on photographs I took during my nighttime walks in Haifa. Each painting corresponds to a different day of the lunar cycle. The moon becomes a vanishing point, a pretext for nighttime wanderings, yet I feel as though it is the moon that eludes me.

The title Jardin D’Hiver (au clair de lune), or Winter Garden (by Moonlight) in English, refers to greenhouses and winter gardens, places of refuge during the coldest months.

The night, the silence, and all that time stretching out before me.
