In my acrylic monotypes, I return to the idea of escape - cast shadows, landscapes, women blending into nature, the moon… I am fascinated by the human desire to isolate ourselves and escape from society, or even from ourselves, in search of an idealized elsewhere.

The women I paint are nude. They are not passive, lascivious objects of the male gaze. They are fleeing, but they do not seek to return to the Garden of Eden. They venture into a space that is a refuge, an idealized elsewhere, a vanishing point - but it is also an unsettling space and, ultimately, a place of transformation and emancipation.

The monotype technique allows me to leave a trace - can we ever truly disappear? It thus echoes escape as a means of emancipation, understood not as a disappearance, but as a rebirth. Each layer of paint becomes the tangible trace of this internal journey.
