In my acrylic monotypes, I return to the idea of escape: cast shadows, landscapes, women blending into nature, the moon… I am fascinated by the human desire to withdraw from society - or even to distance ourselves from ourselves - in search of an idealized elsewhere. Through my paintings, I also explore our growing disconnection from the living world and the need to place it back at the center of our lives.

The women I depict are nude. They are not passive objects of the male gaze, but figures in flight, venturing into a world where human society has vanished. With no trace of human creation, nature reigns supreme, both an idealized refuge and an unsettling territory. By blending into the landscapes, these women seem to shed social conventions and reconnect with the living world on a more instinctive level. Far from a return to the Garden of Eden, their flight opens up a space of vulnerability, transformation, and emancipation.

The monotype allows me to leave a trace - can one ever truly disappear? This tension echoes my conception of flight as a path to emancipation: not a disappearance, but a rebirth. Each layer of paint becomes the tangible trace of this inner journey.
